“Central Park in Yorkdale Estate is a generous park which provides residents with many recreational opportunities including junior and senior play spaces, shelter, picnic facilities, walking paths, wetlands and kick about ovals.

The client’s expectation for Central Park was to create a point of difference from other developments in the area. The playgrounds feature a tower over 6m high and a range of climbing, sliding and swinging activities. The height and bulk of the tower has a strong presence in the landscape and can be seen in the distance when approaching the park. Both the tower and mound overlook the park and surrounding development providing striking views to Mt Warrenheip and Mt Buninyong.

Thomson Hay enjoyed working closely with adventure+ through the whole process from design ideas to construction and we have been impressed with their willingness to push boundaries, attention to detail and helpful communication throughout the project.
