ART & ABOUT IN SYDNEY
20 Jan 2016
The City of Sydney’s ‘Art & About’ program has opened submissions for the 2016/2017 exhibition, calling artists from all walks of life to enter installations that will engage and inspire Sydneysiders.
Looking for big ideas that will temporarily transform public and unusual spaces within the City of Sydney LGA, Council is seeking Expressions of Interest for the Art & About 2016/2017 program.
Opened to artists from all disciplines, including visual artists, curators, filmmakers, musicians, architects, designers and more, the City of Sydney is looking for projects that will reshape the city and inspire Sydneysiders and visitors alike with creative installations.
The creative brief asks for projects that demonstrate artistic excellence, illustrate innovation, and involve or engage the audience. Art & About is seeking to undertake projects that are participatory and immersive, site specific and responsive, tell a story or remix history, have a strong performance or live music component, contain street art or murals, feature emerging artists and companies building their capacity, and/or include collaborations.
The budget for the program will support a number of projects valued between $10,000 and $85,000. Expressions of Interest need to be submitted by 3 March 2016, with selected works to be displayed between July 2016 and June 2017.
