PROVEN PERFORMANCE IN THE FIELD
26 Jun 2017
Toro's range of solenoid valves have proven reliable in the field for over 50 years, doing their part to keep commercial landscapes and sports fields across Australia well watered and ready for play!
Although they can’t be seen, solenoid valves are an integral part of any irrigation system. And since they’re installed in the ground, it’s important you’ve got reliable valves that won’t need servicing or maintenance.
Brett Robinson, Irrigation Manager at Outside Ideas, has used Toro valves across a range of installations and now he wouldn’t settle for anything else.
“As a contractor you want products that you can rely on. The last thing I want to come back to on a project is a failed solenoid valve. It costs you time to go back and fix it, and that’s money you can’t get back,” says Robinson.
Toro has a large range of solenoid valves, each designed and manufactured with contractors in mind, from their ever reliable Irritrol® (Richdel®) 204/205 series and 2400/2500 series through to the latest Toro P-220 Scrubber valve.
Toro’s solenoid valves range in size from 25mm to 80mm and are suited for a variety of residential and commercial installations. If you could sneak a look below the surface of numerous leading Australian sport fields, you’d find dozens of Toro valves working hard to keep the playing surface in peak condition.
TORO INNOVATION AT WORK
Toro’s innovative ‘Jar-Top’, the first in its class, features a threaded bonnet system with a heavy-duty cap ring, making it extremely easy to service without tools, and saving contractors and installers time and money worldwide.
FLEXIBLE CONTROL
When using recycled water in a commercial application, you can’t go past the Toro P-220 Scrubber Valve series. A true dirty water valve, the P-220 is able to handle chlorine and other chemicals found in reclaimed and non-potable water systems.
Constructed from heavy duty glass filled nylon and EDPM rubber, these valves resist clogging and feature a patent-pending active scrubbing mechanism (ACT™ System) to actively fight sand, algae and other particles from blocking the actuation of the valve.
For years Shane Biddle, Grounds Maintenance Coordinator at the University of Queensland, struggled to find a scrubber valve that was long lasting and robust. After installing Toro’s P-220 Scrubber valve, he was amazed at how effective it is.
“We use reclaimed water and it’s important to have a valve that can handle varying water quality. The difference with the P-220 compared to other scrubber valves we’ve used previously is that it cleans continuously. This gives me peace of mind that the water quality won’t interfere with the operation of our system,” says Biddle.
With 50 years of infield performance, Toro valves continue to deliver, providing a range of benefits for today’s demanding environments.
