TAFE MEADOWBANK
The trend of vertical gardens is increasing and this fact favours society. These gardens allow us to breathe clean and pure air, increasing the feeling of well-being in people. Plants promote a healthy environment by favouring the environment.
In a constant concern for the quality of life and a perspective of sustainable development, Atlantis Aurora has developed innovative ideas not only to beautify the environment, but also to maximize the use of space.
Australia’s leading provider for vocational education and training, TAFE NSW Meadowbank was looking for a way to beautify and use the large wall located at the entrance of the building. Atlantis Aurora were fast to propose the installation of a vertical garden that would occupy the entire area of the wall.
Now with 1,000 plants installed in the vertical garden, the space now has a refreshed look. Absorbing 50 percent of sunlight helping to create a more stable and pleasant climate by reducing the air conditioning consumption since 33 percent less is required, which translates into significant electricity savings, vertical gardens not only uplift the mood the space, it also helps with saving energy in sustainable, environmentally friendly alternatives.
In addition to regulating the temperature, the large wall acts as a sound barrier in the building, absorbing up to 41 percent of the noise, generating a more pleasant and healthy interior environment for the students, teachers and staff of the institute.
