Turf Queensland
Association Profile
Inaugurated in March 2001, Turf Queensland represents the growing professional industry of turf production in the state. In undertaking a Strategic Development Plan, Turf Queensland supports the growth of turf production, in a sustainably professional manner, as an intensive agriculture sector across Queensland.
As the recognised Queensland industry support for turf production, the development of the Association's core purpose was undertaken based on the needs identified within the industry body.
As is the case with all industry associations, the development of member benefits was paramount, together with addressing the various issues identified by members through the inclusive research of the Strategic Plan, which provided considerable direction for the Executive of the Association.
As an integrated industry, with over 100 turf grass producers across the state — covering approximately 2500ha and providing a gross state product of $280 million per annum — it is critical that Turf Queensland work alongside related stakeholders, sponsors, research institutions and members to continue the growth of professionalism, industry best practice and awareness of this key industry supplier to our main pillar industries, which include environment, construction, agriculture and natural resources, to name a few.
Turf Queensland Accreditation is the first business accreditation program in Australia. It is third-party audited and a transparent process, providing the purchaser with the confidence that their product has met a standard or criterion created through improvement in the turf industry.
Accreditation provides differentiation and recognition based on achieved competency standards. Turf Queensland is happy to advise that a number of councils are utilising the Turf Accreditation Program (TAP) and requesting proof of compliance (copy of current certificate). Brisbane City Council, the biggest council in Queensland, is included.
What Is Tap?
