A NEW HUB FOR SUTHERLAND INTERCHANGE
25 Sep 2013
Supported by HUB.Shelter’s contemporary design, Sutherland Station now operates as a modern interchange attracting new customers to the public transport network.
Transport for New South Wales (TfNSW) is carrying out an extensive program to upgrade major public transport stations and interchange facilities. The initiative will provide a better experience for public transport customers by delivering accessible, modern, secure and integrated transport infrastructure. These modern interchanges will allow seamless transfers between all modes of transport, for all customers.
HUB Street Equipment continues to work closely with TfNSW providing catalogue and custom shelter systems that meet TfNSW’s objectives. Sutherland Station is the latest interchange to install the HUB.Shelter system. The modular system easily adapts to suit complex layouts and undulating topography. The 7.2m span between posts, while carrying up to 6m double sided cantilevered roof system, allows patrons to move and connect freely between transportation modes.
The fully integrated drainage, electrical and telecommunications systems ensure no exposed elements to cause safety concerns or visually distract from the clean urban lines of the shelter design. The choice of materials and robust finishes ensure quick assembly of parts on site with minimum ongoing maintenance requirements.
