BUTTER FACTORY PARK

Butter Factory Park is a colourful park upgrade filled with sensory items and a variety of equipment. 

The design of the space provides a rich, inclusive play space where children of all abilities can grow and learn through physical, emotional, sensory, and social experiences, coupled with the ability to move throughout the play space safely and independently.

The park features a bright Cemer climbing unit which allows children to improve their coordination and core motor skills, spatial and directional awareness as well as balance, agility, strength, and overall fitness. The methods used in climbing can help a child’s cognitive development through problem solving and memory, and overcoming the feelings of fear and motivation often experienced through climbing also have great benefits to children.

Also included in the playground is the Spinmee Inclusive Roundabout, which allows children with mobility impairments and wheelchair users to play and participate, with the design permitting both seated and standing users, while also featuring two locations that can securely accommodate wheelchairs.

Austek Play’s design creates various play experiences for children by exposing them to an assortment of tactile and sensory experiences by incorporating a number of accessible sensory panels, swings, and spring toys into the park, providing activities for all interests.

The rubber surfacing design was carefully considered to embrace inclusivity and accessibility in every possible way – improving accessibility by providing children and adults of all abilities the opportunity to move throughout the play space safely and independently.
