LEGANA PRIMARY SCHOOL
Located north of Launceston in Tasmania, the growing suburban area of Legana is becoming increasingly popular with young families, and with this, the need for a new school.
The first school built in Tasmania in many years, Legana Primary School is the result of years of community consultation, planning and building. From the expansive learning courtyard to a contemporary playground overlooking the natural environment, the school’s outdoor areas were designed by SBLA Studio to foster learning and collaboration through play.
Working in collaboration with its partner Richter Spielgeräte, Urbania supplied a climbing trunk, sand hoist, climbing net, a toddlers table and much more. SBLA chose Richter Spielgeräte equipment due to its simplicity of materials and play value. Designed to activate the senses, Richter Spielgeräte equipment tests children's developing bodies, accomodating for all abilities and ages. All the timber play equipment is handcrafted using Larch timber, a long lasting, rot-resistant building material, untreated to reduce exposure to chemicals and requiring minimal upkeep.
Offering an industry leading 20 year warranty on all its Richter timber elements, Urbania are proud partners with Richter Spielgeräte and their world-class play structures.
