Sandy Strait State School’s outdoor area went through a substantial and colourful transformation with Austek Play.

Austek Play’s expert knowledge of the industry and in-depth collaboration processes ensured that the final concept design for the play space aligned with Sandy Strait State School’s design intent and vision, while taking into account the space available and natural shade.

Vibrant rubber and synthetic surfacing designs, a Fusion Multi-Sport Goal End, and a sensory area are the featured elements of this playground. The most colourful update to the play space was the addition of the synthetic grass art and musical sensory items to the musical area.

The creek bed area was renewed by Austek Play, with the addition of a custom timber bridge, timber log crossings, and a concrete channel bordered by rocks of various sizes, making an ideal nature-play section. A custom raised planter box was also supplied and installed by Austek Play.

The play area was upgraded with a 1200mm high double wide slide perched on a concrete-reinforced mound covered with CSBR rubber, as well as a Natural Spidergon climbing structure which offers opportunities for motor skill development and socialisation, and creates a space for imaginative play.

Austek Play also installed a new ball sports area with two Fusion Multi-Sport Goal Ends, a new undercover area with custom bench seating, lollipop style fencing, and a new concrete bike path, ensuring that the design vision came together into reality.
