RECYCLING SHADE SAILS WITH RAINBOW SHADE
Rainbow Shade loves to recycle! It’s Z16 and Extreme 32 fabrics are 100 percent HPDE, allowing the company to put its fabric through a recycling program.
What is HDPE?
High-density Polyethylene (HDPE) is an extremely durable thermoplastic polymer made using petroleum. This plastic is extensively used worldwide to make many commonly used objects including milk bottles, kids’ toys, garbage bags, pipes and more. HDPE is easy to recycle and is accepted at most recycling centres around Australia.
The Recycling Process
Rainbow Shade fabrics are made of HDPE allowing the company to put its fabric through a recycling program to help reduce non-biodegradable waste. When there is excess shade fabric or an old shade sail that has reached the end of its service life, the team at Rainbow Shade send the fabric to a recycling facility that is turned into HDPE pellets. These HDPE pellets can then be used to make many different products.
The importance of recycling is gaining more and more attention, helping Australians to understand and add recycling to their everyday lifestyle. At Rainbow Shade, the company understands how vital it is to recycle and reuse plastics. That’s why Rainbow Shade are making choice that are helping the planet through recycling and reusing methods of sustainability.
