A TOUCH OF GOLD

A key attraction for the regional WA town of Kalgoorlie, the renowned Museum of the Goldfields now features a stunning range of moveable street furniture from Street Furniture Australia in a glorious summery palette that references the region’s significant mining heritage.
The Museum of the Goldfields showcases the rich history of the Eastern Goldfields and Kalgoorlie’s mining heritage. At the museum, one can discover the unique role the town has played in WA’s development, both as a centre of mining and its place at the edge of the Nullarbor Plain. One can also explore the largest display of the State’s collection of gold bars and nuggets, step back in time to see how prospectors searched for this precious metal, and learn about the life and hardships faced by mining families during the early 1900s.
Street Furniture Australia was commissioned to deliver a range of bespoke outdoor furniture for the museum. The company supplied Aria Seats, Cafe Round Tables and Stools, Forum Seats and Forum Low Tables, which are powdercoated in tailored Sunshine Gloss and standard Sensation Orange, Lycra Strip and Bondi Blue. Some of the frames match the battens, while some are finished in Textura Monument.
The furniture is colour-matched to represent all six Western Australian Museum locations, spread across the state and representing social and natural histories of the land and sea.
“The Western Australian Museum’s mission is to inspire people to explore and share knowledge with one another," explained the museum. "Introducing this furniture activates our outdoor area, creating a safe and welcoming space for our community to do just that.”
The orange, green and blue powdercoats are from Street Furniture Australia’s UV-resistant DuraBright range, which is ideal for Kalgoorlie’s hot and harsh climate.
