Showcasing the very best landscape projects from around Australia, these awards recognised design excellence from AILDM members and highlighted the benefits and amazing collaborative results achieved through the engagement of an experienced landscape designer.
Among all the changes we have witnessed this year, AILDM welcomed the addition of two exciting new awards that celebrate the premier entries in the key Residential Design and Commercial Design categories.
In a virtual ceremony broadcast on YouTube and celebrated around the country via small Zoom parties on 29 October, designers received awards that recognised their craft across a range of categories from rooftop and coastal gardens, to large residential and commercial landscapes and landscape management. A new category Landscape Design for Diverse Needs highlighted the contribution designers are making to the community. The award categories reflect the broad range of design work and expertise our members exhibit in response to the ever-changing and diverse requirements of their clients across a unique range of sites.
AILDM President Paul Stein reflected on the efforts of members this year by noting:
“I am always amazed at the strength of Australians, and how, through incredibly varied challenges, we rise to the occasion. The quality of landscape design shown at these awards shows the skill and creativity of our members and their persistence. There is so much hard work from our landscape designers that goes into the awards submissions; physically, mentally, and emotionally. Well done to everyone involved, what a beautiful display of what our industry can achieve.”
A panel of industry experts with a wealth of experience from across Australia’s landscape industry was assembled to judge this year's awards. The award judges were Jim Fogarty, Michele Shennen, Lucinda McManus, Chantelle Leenstra, Kim Woods Rabbidge, Janine Mendel & Sally Tulloch.
