BOLLARDS LIGHT THE WAY
01 Aug 2019
Designed to meet the specific needs of bike pathways where visibility is poor, Blade Recreation’s bike bollards ensure a cycling pathway is as safe as can be. Find out how.
Blade Recreation recently installed 50 bike bollards along the bike and walking trails that sit adjacent to the Yarra River in Burnley.
Blade bike bollards are available in standard and illuminated models, and have been designed to meet specific needs in bike path safety and signage.
The illuminated bollard has been designed specifically for pathway installations where visibility is poor and the potential for accidents is high. This bollard is made from 7mm-thick toughened roto-moulded plastic and features a flexible base, reflective front and rear decals, and a highly visible LED solar light fitted into the head of the unit. It is a safer and smarter option to the unforgiving timber, concrete or solid plastic bollards that are prevalent on most walking/bike trails.
The standard bollard can also be used on pathways as an urban marker where lighting is not required and features the same flexible base as the illuminated unit, which has been designed to withstand high force collisions while absorbing impact.
Blade bollards are available in removable, surface or permanent fixing options and come in a wide range of colours, allowing them to blend in with the environment or stand out as required. They can also be supplied in colour-coded format to represent specific locations or areas within your municipality, and custom signage icons are available along with municipal or organisational logos.
The bike bollard is a new product borne out of the Blade Recreation and Industrial by Nature strategic alliance. This collaboration has produced a number of highly successful recreational products and continues to do so with the ongoing development of niche products for outdoor spaces.
