CHINCHILLA COMES TO LIFE

Landmark Products was instrumental in helping to create the new greenspace for the $5.9 million Chinchilla Botanic Parkland project, by designing and supplying nine bespoke shelters and an accessible restroom that engage the local community.
The Chinchilla Botanic Parkland is a $5.9 million project co-funded by the Western Downs Regional Council and the Queensland Government, with Council delivering the project. Spanning 4.2 hectares between Canaga and Wambo Streets, the Parkland boasts state-of-the-art water treatment and irrigation systems with solar panels powering the entire site.
The long-awaited project was first announced in 2016, stemming from a community vision that has origins as far back as the 1970s. Set to become a signature destination for community events and entertainment across the region, the Chinchilla Botanic Parkland will add to the beauty, heritage and liveability of the Western Downs.
The Chinchilla Botanic Parkland is a long-term vision, with total site development taking place over multiple stages in the next five to ten years.
Landmark Products was instrumental in helping to create a new and exciting greenspace for the whole community to enjoy, regardless of age and ability. Nine shelters and an accessible restroom were designed and supplied by Landmark for Chinchilla.
The restroom supplied by Landmark is a robust, low-maintenance steel construct that offers a range of roofing style options and a modern aesthetic that complements any park or urban space. Landmark restrooms offer numerous roof options, finishes, fixing and material options to ensure the structure complements the aesthetics and needs of your space.
Four Longreach shelters and five Burleigh modified contemporary outdoor shelters were designed and supplied by Landmark for Chinchilla.
Landmark Longreach shelters are an eye-catching cantilevered hardwood shelter that can be customised with designer roofs in a choice of powdercoated colours. Burleigh shelters can be customised for the needs of the site and, like all Landmark shelters, feature hot-dipped galvanised posts and frame, an aluminium screen and ColorBond or Ultra Grade roofing. The Burleigh can be powdercoated in your choice of colours and has a range of fixings, size and shape variations.
In order to engage the community in the new parkland, the students at Chinchilla Christian College and Chinchilla State High School have been given the opportunity to propose artworks that will draw on Chinchilla’s rich history, environmental locality and wide-ranging flora and fauna, which will be lasercut out of Corten steel and attached to the Landmark shelters.
This opportunity for the students to participate in the development of the parkland will foster their creative spirit and give them a meaningful connection to the space.
