SVC Products is a trusted Victorian supplier of precast stormwater pits, access covers, grates, kerb lintels, stormwater detention systems and more. Operating since 1948, the company has cultivated a strong reputation within the civil construction industry for the supply of high-quality, industry-compliant products that meet all regulatory requirements.
All concrete products are manufactured in-house at SVC’s head premises in Mordialloc, Victoria, using raw materials sourced from Australian suppliers. Working within a controlled factory environment, the SVC production team ensures that products are fit for purpose, achieving high strength and performance characteristics.
SVC’s Civil product range is utilised in the establishment of new subdivision projects, road and rail infrastructure and in the upkeep and maintenance of council drainage assets. Having supplied drainage products to Victorian municipalities for several decades, SVC has steadily expanded its standard Civil product range to include specific product offerings to suit each council’s standard drawings and designs.
Stormwater pits and risers are available from SVC in multiple standard sizes, ranging from 450x450 to 1200x1200. Made from high strength reinforced precast concrete, SVC precast pits are designed with knockouts on all four walls, allowing contractors to easily connect drainage pipes on-site.
Another benefit of SVC’s range of standard precast pits and risers is that they are now manufactured using carbon-neutral concrete. The embodied carbon within the concrete component of SVC pits and risers is completely reduced, due to the use of supplementary cementitious materials in the concrete mix design, coupled with government-certified carbon offset schemes to reduce the remaining embodied carbon. Customers purchasing SVC precast pits and risers can reap the benefits of using an environmentally friendly product within their projects.
SVC’s Civil product range includes a wide variety of access covers and grates, which are all manufactured in compliance with the requirements of the Australian Standard AS 3996:2019 – Access covers and grates. Access covers are available in load classes A to E, made from various materials such as reinforced precast concrete, lightweight SMC polymeric material and heavy duty cast iron. Depending on the loading requirements and the specific project application, SVC’s sales team can provide advice on the type of access cover best suited for each project.
Galvanised steel grates are commonly used in stormwater and drainage applications and are typically installed over junction or side entry pits, or in certain cases over catch pits within the kerb channel. SVC stocks steel grates to suit multiple project applications, including specialty grates such as trench grates, pedestrian-safe grates, crossover grates and VicRoads-compliant grates.
On-site stormwater detention (OSD) refers to the process of slowing the discharge of stormwater from a site, to prevent flooding and reduce pressure on the municipal drainage network. SVC offers various solutions for OSD, including the patented multi-cell detention system (pictured above) which was developed in conjunction with Swinburne University in the 1990s.
