COMPOSITE TIMBER DECKING
08 Apr 2021
Futurewood supplies a quality range of environmentally friendly, low-maintenance, timber-alternative building products including composite timber screening, cladding and decking.
Futurewood’s composite timber decking range was already one of the largest in the country but with the recently released Eco-Pro decking range and the 185mm wide CleverDeck Xtreme ‘capped’ composite decking board adding to the range, there is now a product for every situation and budget.
CleverDeck consists of the very cost-effective Eco-Pro single sided lighter weight scalloped back decking in two new colours; Hamptons Grey and Baked Earth. The CleverDeck Original solid 23mm thick double-sided decking is available in five strong colours, with the CleverDeck Xtreme ‘capped’ co-ex composite timber decking in seven vibrant colours and two different widths.
The full range of products provide a wide choice of high-quality decking that is surprisingly affordable, with up to 14 stocked colours and the choice of 138mm or 185mm wide decking boards. The new low-height pedestal and aluminium joist sub frame system further adds to the range and provides increased flexibility around the installation of the deck. All CleverDeck composite timber decking never needs oiling or painting and is very low-maintenance.
CleverDeck Eco-Pro and Original provide the traditional coarse sanded finish timber look across seven solid colours. These boards are made from single extrusion that combines recycled plastic, saw dust and rice husks. It has the colour running right through the board so it can be sanded, planed, drilled, routered or cut with ease.
The hard-outer shell of the CleverDeck Xtreme fully encapsulates the board and is water-proof so most stains can be removed by simply mopping the surface, making it easy to clean. The specially formulated polymer blend that the cap is made of is hard-wearing colour fast.
CleverDeck Xtreme is a co-extruded decking meaning that it is made up of two separate layers of material bonded together during the manufacturing process. The internal core is a traditional composite timber blended from recycled plastic and hardwood sawdust ground in to a powder and mixed together. A hard-outer shell or cap made from a special mix of virgin polymers completely covers the core. The CleverDeck Xtreme cap is made from a blend of materials designed to make it super tough and much harder to scratch than traditional composite timber. The cap’s virgin polymer blend allows the use of vibrant colour hues with subtle streaking creating a totally new decking look that is fade-resistant.
The Xtreme board is available in seven amazing colours supplied in a scalloped back design to help reduce weight and provide air flow between the joist and the board, keeping the boards cooler. CleverDeck Xtreme is supplied in a 138mm wide or 185mm wide x 23mm thick x 5400mm long board with grooved edges allowing for an efficient time saving concealed fix using the Futurewood deck clip system of clips with self-drilling screws for either timber or steel joists.
