CUT THE WIND AND KEEP THE VIEW

With the ability to be raised and lowered at will, Svalson’s elegant glass balustrades hinder incoming winds without compromising the view. Find out how these innovative and durable barriers worked for the Shoal Bay Country Club.

The Club’s $6 million renovation aimed to restore the building back to its former glory, drawing on inspiration from the vibrant beach culture of the 1950s and the surrounding Port Stephens atmosphere.
“With history dating back to 1930s, locals and tourists alike have loved the venue and made memories here for many years,” stated Publican Andrew Lazarus, who purchased the building back in 2016. “We wanted to reignite this passion with the refurb and bring something fresh and exciting to the Port Stephens area, while ensuring the hotel’s history has been preserved.”
Installing Svalson’s stylish and functional balustrading ensures that the patio can remain in use all-year-long while patron's dine and relax in comfort. The glass panels can be easily raised and lowered, allowing for patrons to continue enjoying the hotel’s fine cuisine and view, despite any sudden change in the weather. The panels also provide the additional benefit of a highly effective sound barrier, eliminating noise from the streetscape below.
Leading interior designer, Rachel Luchetti of Luchetti Krelle, explained her vision for the revamp, “Nostalgia is the underlying theme here, with the desire to recapture the hearts of the locals while appealing to holiday makers once again.”
Svalson’s balustrades follow a classic and timeless design that perfectly encapsulates this vision. Seamlessly blending into the surrounding landscape and the overall design for the hotel, the balustrades ensure the theme is met while still providing modern technology and ensuring patron’s needs are the primary focus.
