DECORATIVE CLADDING WITH STAYING POWER
04 Oct 2017
When a building calls for a timber aesthetic with long-term viability, Futurewood composite timber battens are a practical solution, offering a solid material without the maintenance natural timbers require.
This contemporary façade in Richmond Victoria was created using Futurewood Pty Ltd 40mm x 30mm solid composite timber battens in the colour Slate Grey. The sustainability of this low-maintenance material with no ongoing oiling or painting required was a key to the success of this project and the finished result speaks for itself.
Futurewood battens have colour running all the way through the material and are composed of a combination of wood flour, rice husks and plastic. This means that the pre-finished composite material, unlike timber, does not need painting or staining on a regular basis. In addition the Futurewood composite timber battens have a very low moisture absorbency rate and will not rot and decay or attract termites and white ants.
Futurewood decorative cladding/battens come in a range of different profile sizes, lengths, colours and finishes. They can also be custom-made to suit specific commercial projects.
