HOW'S THE SERENITY?

Employing peace and tranquillity as its sales pitch, the greenspaces of this masterplanned community help it to deliver in style

Situated in Helensvale in the sunny climes of Queensland’s Gold Coast region, a new waterfront landscape has been created by Penfold Projects.

Serenity 4212 is an emerging three-neighbourhood masterplanned community being developed by Keylin Group. A unique project set upon the waterways of the Gold Coast, this project is being built upon some of the last remaining waterfront land of the area, delivering its residents a space of peace, seclusion and serenity.

Part of the overall design, three waterfront-located, architecturally designed parks were slated to be created in Serenity Waters along with pockets of landscaped open space, all to be delivered by expert landscape contractors Penfold Projects.

With more than 20 years of commercial experience, Penfold has to date completed
the planting of over 45,000 subtropical plants and 1900 trees in this development. The team has established vast turf areas, created three parks with picnic facilities, an indoor gym space and playground.

In addition, Penfold completed a series of hardscaping elements, which included a statement entry wall that marks the estate’s grand entrance. A key feature of the project, Serenity Boulevard displays hand-selected Royal Cuban and Canary palms that stand sentinel over the entry wall. Elegantly crafted streetscapes further complete the relaxed, tropical scheme within the community.

Tasked with creating a luxurious and enviable landscape environment that would enrich the lifestyle of Serenity’s residents, the expansive region was divided into smaller pockets of greenspace. Recurrent curved patterns were utilised and replicated by Penfold in the entry wall, as well as an amphitheatre and the paving design of the parks, to represent the waves of the Gold Coast’s world-famous beaches.

While reshaping the landscape, Penfold used native species to enrich the area while ensuring respectful operations were conducted in a bid to preserve the historical indigenous history of the land, and protect the existing fauna and flora. Furthering this cultural and environmentally conscious ethos, the company incorporated eco-friendly techniques into the building process such as repurposing materials from initial demolition works.

Though an ongoing project that began in 2020, Serenity 4212 is already an evolving masterpiece. Nowhere is this more obvious than in the splendour of the park overlooking Coombabah Lake. Set against the backdrop of the sparkling waterfront, one of Serenity’s largest parks includes a fun playspace with slides, swings, climbing towers and fitness equipment on a bed of sand, interspersed with trees for natural shade. Barbecue areas installed by Penfold include shelters and picnic settings, as well as an interconnected pathway system surrounded by plenty of lush grass to keep the heat at bay.

Offering something for everyone, the open spaces of Serenity Waters are an enticing arena for residents and visitors. With only 15 of its 65 acres to be developed, this Gold Coast community is sure to deliver a satisfying amount of nature’s best.
