East Brunswick Village (EBV) is a unique urban renewal project transforming the former Sidney Cooke Fasteners site in East Brunswick, Victoria, into an exciting, community-focused space for twenty-
first century living.

Completed in late 2023, the project includes some of the most thoughtfully crafted apartments for sale in Melbourne, providing a thriving modern community where sustainable development, urban living and home comfort take precedence.

Located only six kilometres from Melbourne’s CBD, East Brunswick Village brings the best of apartment living to the city’s vibrant inner north and was designed to provide a home village environment and all the associated conveniences of an urban location. The Village also incorporates for-residents-only amenities such as the rooftop social spaces, which showcase architecturally designed landscapes that provide personal outdoor spaces and abundant opportunities for community connection. 

Designed by JAM Architects, the rooftop design of Lots 3 and 4 of the development feature key landscaping elements comprised of a large quantity of planters. Over three hundred different customised shapes and sizes were produced by specialists Satu Bumi for the project, including planters that required lowered internal side walls in order to enable them to be viewed as large continuous formwork planting beds.

The planters produced for the EBV project were crafted from Glassfibre Reinforced Concrete (GRC). This highly desirable material was used in manufacturing the planters due to its durable and cost-effective nature. Working with GRC afforded Satu Bumi the opportunity to precast the planters offsite and mould them to meet the landscape architect’s exacting design requirements.

Commissioned by the project’s construction company, LU Simon Builders, Satu Bumi possessed the manufacturing capacity to take on the large-scale project, meeting the budget and the timeframe requirements of the project without challenge.
