'EXTREME' PLAY
05 Dec 2016
Omnitech Playgrounds has installed new customised 'Extreme' play units in two community parks for Nillumbik Shire Council, marking their largest landscaping project to date.
The Gordon and Sheila Ferguson Park in Hurstbridge is a hidden retreat. Tucked away from the area's main road, the park is designed to utilise a natural colour palette that complements the local landscape. The standout feature of the park is the Omnitech ‘Extreme’ play unit, which features monkey bars, play panels, and slides among other traditional play activities. The unit has also been custom designed to include a flying fox and two embankment tube slides to entertain even the most adventurous of children.
Made from durable galvanised Australian steel and locally moulded plastics, the customised ‘Extreme’ play unit is a favourite for kids of all ages and made to last even the toughest play. The Gordon and Sheila Ferguson Park posed an exciting new experience for Omnitech; who not only utilised their team’s skills in installation and design but also completed the company's first large-scale landscaping project. Using a timber arch bridge, they transformed the site by adding a dry creek bed, as well as raising the level of the site to allow extra fall for the flying fox.
In addition to this project, Omnitech Playgrounds has also completed the refurbishment of Rotary Park, Diamond Creek. Rotary Park is a destination playground located near the community sporting precinct and close to local shops. The popular destination was a fantastic opportunity for Omnitech to highlight its new product range. The park's custom ‘Extreme’ play unit includes: musical chimes, the Geo Climber, a new timber curved bench seat, swing sets, a hammock, and an orbit spinner. With so many interactive elements, Rotary Park suits children of all ages and abilities, as it not only promotes mobility and play but also encourages children to let their imagination run wild with interactive panels and musical chimes. A long-standing local community favourite, Rotary Park is set to be the star of the neighbourhood for years to come.
