FUTUREWOOD CLADDING SAVES THE DAY
05 Apr 2017
Futurewood are industry leaders in providing a range of cladding products, recently the company’s EnviroSlat range were able to help a commercial developer complete a government project on time and within budget.
A highly regarded commercial builder in Western Australia had recently won the tender for a project that required the construction of a number of cottages for a government department. The company was, however, having difficulty sourcing agreeable pricing and availability for the necessary cladding specified. That was until Futurewood put forward their EnviroSlat weatherproof composite cladding as a viable alternative.
Futurewood were able to act quickly and provide the necessary product information that the builder and architect needed to compare the EnviroSlat weatherproof cladding to the original cladding product specified.
Once the project manager decided to proceed with the Futurewood product, nearly 5000 lineal metres of Futurewood EnviroSlat weatherproof cladding, in Slate Grey and Chocolate colouring, was ordered. To minimise waste and improve building efficiency, the cladding boards were ordered in 6 different lengths to suit the multitude of different walls that the cladding was being fixed upon.
As planned, the custom-made order was received at the Futurewood Perth warehouse and was ready for delivery to the site within the delivery time frame. Futurewood, realising the urgency of the project were able to order and receive the material before the site was prepared and housed the cladding at the company warehouse until the project was readied for installation.
Once the project was at a suitable stage, a 9m reach crane truck was organised and it was decided that all of the cladding would be delivered to the site after only 8 weeks since the order was placed. Futurewood were not only able to act quickly and offer the developers an alternative product for the project, they were able to organise the ordering and delivery of the material in an easy and prompt manner.
The speed with which the material was received meant that the builder’s installation of the cladding and overall completion of the product were undertaken within the original project time frame and budget. Feedback from the site manager and the installation team was that the cladding was easy to work with and install. The builders were especially pleased with the final product finish and the overall appearance of the completed project.
