For this project, the client chose both composite-timber decking and weatherproof cladding for a very cost effective and stunning result. CleverDeck Original decking in Slate Grey was matched with EnviroSlat weatherproof cladding in a combination of Slate Grey and Weathered Stone to create material harmony.

The home office/granny flat was a custom-designed dwelling supplied by Classic Kit Homes and built by the client. Classic Kit Homes have an extensive range of building designs ranging from small backyard offices to large country mansions and everything in between, as well as custom designs. The company also has a large range of trades it can recommend to help out owner builders as and if needed, taking the worry out of the build for first-time owner-builders.

CLEVERDECK ORIGINAL & ECO-PRO

Futurewood’s composite decking range includes the CleverDeck Original solid double-sided composite-timber decking and CleverDeck Eco-Pro, which has all the features of the Original range but with a scalloped back single-sided board that reduces weight and heat. These products are available in six colours across the two ranges.

Both the Original and the Eco-Pro boards are finished with a course sanded texture that makes the product look and feel like a timber plank. They are supplied in long lengths with grooved edges that work seamlessly with Futurewood’s concealed fix clipping system.

Made from recycled plastic, rice husks and hardwood sawdust, CleverDeck Original and Eco-Pro composite timber decking have colour pigments running through the boards that eliminate the need for oiling or painting. They will not rot, splinter or cup, making them a great option for any garden. In addition, the concealed fixing system provides a clean finish, with no nails or screws to catch any toes!

CLEVERDECK XTREME

Futurewood CleverDeck Xtreme “capped” composite decking is a co-extruded decking comprised of a hard, outer shell made from virgin polymers that completely encapsulates a traditional composite timber core. The Xtreme cap is made from a blend of different polymers designed to make it super tough and much harder to scratch than traditional composite timber. It is virtually waterproof, which makes it is very hard to stain and easy to clean. The cap’s virgin polymer blend allows for the use of vibrant colour hues with subtle streaking, creating a totally new decking aesthetic. The boards are scalloped backed with a grooved-edge profile.

The Xtreme composite decking range is available in a 138mm-wide and a 185mm-wide board in up to six amazing colours.

THE CLIP SYSTEM

All CleverDeck composite timber decking boards are 23mm thick and 5400mm long, allowing the Futurewood deck clip system to work seamlessly between either the Eco-Pro, Original or Xtreme decking products. The long boards and easy-to-use clips add further value by reducing installation time and saving on labour costs.
