LITTLE LEARNERS, BIG ADVENTURES
08 Mar 2017
Jungle Play has created a playspace that is big on imagination, big on playfulness, and best of all big on helping the little learners among us get out and enjoy big outdoor adventures.
Little Learners Early Education in South Morang, Victoria, is a wonderland for children. As one of the largest early learning centres in Australia, Little Learners Early Education sets the benchmark in innovative early education playspaces. At the heart of their new centre sits a menagerie of Jungle Play's creatures and play structures that spark the imagination.
Little Learners' visionary owners, Davin and Aaron, approached Jungle Play in 2016 with a design brief for creating a unique, nature-focused play and learning space for the 280 children attending their centre. Together with their dedicated staff, they designed the centre's outdoor facilities with the Jungle Play nature play items in mind.
Surrounded by colourful EPDM rubber, the end result is a series of wonderous, nature-themed play spaces designed to engage and delight young children for years to come. Children are kept busy and entertained with caterpillars, snails, ants, frogs, ladybirds, gum blossoms, gum leaf pod houses and more. There is even a ferocious Trex - comically restrained by a tiny fence!
Within the playspace, children have ample room for guided group activities or to engage in unrestrained play, developing their climbing and motor skills on the Turtle Climber, the Minmi Climbasaurus or the Hollow Log climber and tunnel. At the end of playtime, the area becomes a whimsical lunch area with children gathering around to eat lunch in the 'toadstool garden'.
