From October 22-25, the Australian Institute of Horticulture will host a range of events and their national awards dinner.
From October 22-25, the Australian Institute of Horticulture will host a range of events and their national awards dinner in the theme of “Living Soils, Healthy Plants, Scaping Nature”.
From October 22-24, key speakers will discuss natural/biological methodologies in scaping soil for plants, choosing plants and assessing and mentoring plant health. Concepts will not be restricted to urban aesthetic gardens and will also include native bushland, production, urban farming and address issues of selection of geographical and climatic regions.
Key speakers for the event will include the following, plus other leading AIH specialist members.

On the morning of Friday 25 there will be a workshop on ‘Difficult Conversations and Conflict in the Horticulture Industry’ presented by Serge Loode Director PACSIA, a leading international peace and mediation specialist and lecturer based in Brisbane (5 CPD points).
On the evening of Friday 25 at 7pm will be the AIH Awards Dinner, themed “Aussie Winners” and featuring Don Burke as the event MC. Tickets are currently on sale from $99.00 per person and the event will feature special guests Wes Fleming and Phil Johnson, Best in Show winners at this year’s Chelsea Flower Show. Share the night with Australia’s highest horticultural awards and network with other horties and friends. AIH awards dinner will be held at Riverglenn with a fabulous a la carte dining overlooking remnant forests, followed by a stroll along the Brisbane River to enjoy the October evening air (2 CPD points).
On October 26 and 27 will be the Magical Mystery Tour of the Sunshine Coast. This will involve two days strolling around the Glasshouse Mountains and Sunshine Coast beaches Visit some world class collector’s gardens and specialist nurseries with the local AIH horticulture gurus.
