Kaebel Leisure welcomed a prehistoric playground to a residential development in Donnybrook, Victoria.
This unconventional playspace designed by Kaebel Leisure is an overload of fun. Running through a maze of swing sets and dinosaur bones, Kaebel Leisure has designed a one-of-a-kind Jurassic-themed playground. Commissioned by landscape architect firm Tract, Kaebel Leisure worked to complete a concept and design to meet the architect's brief for a dinosaur-themed playspace. Exceeding expectations, Kaebel Leisure delivered a plethora of play elements.
The main attraction in the playspace is a giant elongated climbing centre, designed and built to look like a dinosaur head. The climbing sculpture was crafted using a heavy steel subframe clad in a variety of perforated metal panels. The perforations form a decorative pattern to which climbing pegs are secured, allowing the fearless to travel the journey up the dinosaur’s head into a netted tunnel before taking the connecting spiral slide to return safely to the ground.
Other elements of the playspace include the skeletal body of the dinosaur, created using the Spaghetti Structure range. Designed to resemble a rib-cage-like section, it hosts a variety of play and agility units. A pair of nest swings and a climbing tunnel also allows users to climb up and out of the play structure. The wealth of play is endless in this intricate playspace that tells a story and motivates children to become Jurassic explorers and fight or befriend the dinosaur.
An atmosphere is created by large, towering palm trees to illuminate children’s imaginations further. For families, a nearby sheltered picnic area and greenspace offer a place for rest and relaxation. Kaebel Leisure has gone above and beyond to create the perfect adventurous playspace for children and families to enjoy.
