In support of a healthy and active community, Eureka Landscapes took on the latest improvements to the Maroochydore Multi-Sports Complex, extending the facility for greater functionality.
The Maroochydore Multi-Sports Complex is located on Fishermans Road in Maroochydore. The venue is in close proximity to some of the Sunshine Coast’s most popular attractions. The complex has first-class facilities, which have hosted several AFL pre-season training camps, football (soccer) and netball events.
Located on approximately 24 hectares of council owned land, the open space has been cleared for recreational use by the Maroochydore community. The complex provides open space for formal and informal activities that promote health and wellbeing for local residents and visitors.
The Sunshine Coast Council has demonstrated a long-standing commitment to supporting the growth of the Maroochydore Multi-Sports Complex as the population of the area increases. It is dedicated to ensuring that the facility continues to meet the needs of users, including the aspirational support the space provides for a healthy and creative community.
The latest improvements to the Maroochydore Multi-Sports Complex were constructed by principal contractor, Eureka Landscapes. Eureka was engaged by Sunshine Coast Council to complete one floodlit multi-sport field, spectator seating and carpark.
The addition to the facilities included 113 car parking spaces, bus parking and parking lighting, as well as the construction of a new multi-sport field.
The new field features specifically engineered sports-grade lighting, hybrid turf used in high wear areas around the goal squares, interchange boxes for players, coaches boxes, behind-goal netting, drainage and automated irrigation, earth mounds for spectator viewing and landscaping.
Eureka Landscapes was also engaged to complete preliminary earthworks, preparation of sub-grade and field drainage, installation of paths, furniture and structures, installation of field lighting, installation of turf and softscapes, and car park construction.
The integration of the first multi-use field for the complex will provide a flexible option for use by any sporting code, while complementing the existing AFL and football fields.
This stage of the Complex upgrade was opened to the public in December of 2020.
