25 Mar 2025
Located between Ulladulla and Batemans Bay, the Murramarang South Coast Walk connects coastal villages with beautiful tall forests, secluded beaches, dramatic rock platforms and crystal blue water.

A 3-day, 34 kilometre walk from Pretty Beach to Maloneys Beach, you can choose your own adventure and try smaller sections of the Murramarang South Coast Walk on a half day or full day walk. With the option of pre-booking campsites and transfers along the route, tackling at least a section of this gorgeous walk on your next South Coast weekender is a must-do. If you'd like to stay overnight and wake up in the national park, book your campground, cabin or cottage.
Highlights of the walk include:
Forests One of the really special things in Murramarang is the forest of majestic spotted gums and burrawangs that grow right down to the beach. It's one of the rare spots in Australia where this happens.
Connection to Country Murramarang National Park has very high cultural significance for indigenous communities of the south coast who have a deep and continuing connextion to the lands and waters. The walk adjoins Murramarang Aboriginal Area which has one of the largest and most important Aboriginal sites on the NSW coast.
Wildlife Locals There's no shortage of native wildlife. Spot eastern grey kangaroos dozing and grazing near beaches and picnic areas. Twitchers are in for a treat too. Lyrebirds fossick in the leaf litter, while wonga pigeons strut around on parade.
Secluded Bays and Coves While the walk starts and stops at popular beaches, along the wat are many secluded bays and coves. Stop for lunch with an amazing view and, during the migration period, you might even spot a whale or two!
The walk is rated as Grade 4 – meaning it’s relatively challenging and best suited for experienced walkers.
