An extensive landscape project honours the ‘village green’ tradition at Arcadian Hills in Sydney’s south-west, providing amenity while reflecting the natural splendour of its bush surrounds.

In Arcadian Hills, the tradition of the rural ‘village green’ has been honoured with the construction of superbly maintained and manicured open spaces undertaken by Simpson Landscapes and Consultants. The variety of landscaped spaces allows residents and visitors to play, stroll, run, and cycle, or just walk the dog. As master landscape contractors with over 40 years of experience, Simpson Landscapes and Consultants were contracted for a range of design and construction services to ensure this boutique community seamlessly combines aspirational country living with an urban way of life.
Constructed in stages, Simpson Landscapes and Consultants was responsible for construction of the fitness park, located next to the historic dam between stages 2 and 4, street planting and streetscape works in stages 2 to 5, landscape construction of the riparian corridor within the development, as well as construction of Linear Park along the Northern Road, including earthworks and rock wall construction.
The full scope of works undertaken by Simpson Landscapes includes:
- Supply and instal of reinforced concrete pavements with colours and finishes
- Supply and instal of crushed sandstone pavements and edging
- Supply, fabrication and installation of rural fencing
- Supply and installation of park seats and bollards
- Supply and place roughly squared sandstone logs
- Supply and construction of sandstone walls
- Supply and instal of exercise equipment including certification
- Supply and instal of all soft fall surfacing as required
- Supply and instal of root control barrier
- Supply and instal of timber and concrete edging
- Cultivation and preparation of planting and turfing areas
- Supply and installation of site and imported soils and mulches
- Supply, laying and establishment of turf grasses
- Coordinate supply and installation of plant material
- Maintenance of contract works for twenty-four months
