NEW WATER-BASED ENHANCER HITS THE MARKET
04 May 2016
Miteq’s new revolutionary water-based penetrating sealer offers maximum performance for sealing masonry surfaces and enhancing natural colour - and it is solvent free!
Developed by Miteq Pty Ltd in Keysborough, Victoria, Sealer 102 Colour Enhancer is believed to be the first water-based penetrating sealer with colour enhancement qualities launched in Australia.
Sealer 102 Colour Enhancer has taken over 18 months to develop and refine. This innovative aqueous, solvent-free sealer is designed to enhance and penetrate into porous surfaces without affecting slip resistance, as previous enhancers have done. However, the major benefit of Sealer 102 Colour Enhancer is that it is water based.
Previously most solvent-based enhancers have had issues with enriching porous products like the sandstone and concrete based pavers that are still very prevalent within the market today. With Sealer 102 Colour Enhancer these products and more can now be enhanced with excellent results.
Sealer 102 Colour Enhancer will provide maximum stain protection against oils, foodstuffs and airborne pollutants. It is suitable for use on all types of stone ranging from sandstone, travertine, concrete and bluestone. Trials to ascertain suitability of penetration and enhancement should always be undertaken prior to end use.
As it is solvent-free, and therefore low VOC, Sealer 102 Colour Enhancer is a user-friendly product, especially when it comes to internal application and, being a penetrating sealer, it won’t affect the surface texture or vapour permeability significantly.
Sealer 102 Colour Enhancer is best applied in its original supplied concentration. Wet on wet passes are the most effective and will increase penetration depth. For more detailed application information please view the material data sheet.
Sealer 102 Colour Enhancer is compatible with water, so as we move into a wetter season this product can be applied on a damp substrate without the issues that are associated with solvent-based products. It won’t have the reaction that solvents can - turning the substrate white – and the sealed surface will be suitable for foot traffic after 24 hours.
Sealer 102 now meets Green Building Council of Australia low VOC, as tested to standard IEQ-13.
