PLAY WITH AUSTRALIAN IRONBARK
29 Oct 2020
The Play Works, Australia’s leading playground equipment & design specialists, have now crafted traditional play pieces from natural Ironbark logs.
The Play Works is at the forefront of natural play and now they have extended their product offerings to include traditional play pieces using natural Ironbark logs. Swings, a see saw, springers and even flying foxes have been crafted with natural logs to better suit a natural surrounding and blend seamlessly with natural play elements.
Australian Ironbark can outlast many imported hardwoods in our harsh climate conditions. All logs are debarked with the sapwood removed, sanded, radiused and oiled in preparation to give the best possible result in a playground setting. Australian Ironbark timber is naturally very hard and pest resistant. The Play Works coats all in-ground timber to further extend their lifespan.
Along with traditional play equipment the new range also includes many stand-alone bridging and interconnecting elements to help designers make play experiences flow subtly and effortlessly.
The Play Works teams up with a number of artists and sculptors who can make each piece truly unique. Feature carvings or small exploratory accents specific to the local area can bring a playspace to life and add a real connection to the local community.
The Play Works manufactures to order in Brisbane and specialises in bespoke pieces. They believe that successful playground design and delivery requires a wide range of skills and expertise, so designers are encouraged to talk to their team to explore the possibilities of working collaboratively with The Play Works.
