SCULPTURES BREATHE LIFE INTO PLAYSPACES
07 Jun 2018
Working with an accredited Brisbane-based artist, The Play Works offers commissioned carvings and exquisitely detailed sculptures that add a unique, bespoke element to any playspace and will ignite children’s imaginations.
The carvings are a reflection of the surrounding environment, drawing attention to the local flora and fauna. They offer opportunities for sensory and exploratory play as well as educational experiences. A range of standard carving themes or categories are available in addition to complete bespoke artwork pieces.
The Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service recently commissioned custom designed totems for their Daisy Hill Conservation Park upgrade. Featuring a koala, black cockatoo, goanna and jumping ants, the totems also included inset signage with nature play missions for children.
Sculptures and carvings can bring a sense of magic and discovery to all spaces. From teepee structures in early learning centres, to carved steppers and sandpit feature sculptures. The sky is the limit when it comes to creativity.
Sculptures and carvings are made using ironbark timber. This timber has the strength and durability to endure the harsh Australian conditions and considerations can be made for location-specific requirements, including footings or other solutions.
