THE NATURAL WAY
Using a holistic “design and build” approach to playgrounds, Timber Creations build playgrounds to suit the space available, utilising the landscape and existing natural features.
Timber Creations has extensive experience working with many different landscapes and will create a playground that blends seamlessly with the surrounding environment. The natural elements will entice children to explore and investigate through natural colours, shapes and textures, without the harsh contrast to the surrounding landscape.

AWKWARD SITES
What do you do with awkward spaces with sloping ground or trees with sensitive roots that create unusable spaces?
Often these types of spaces will not work with traditional play equipment, but Timber Creations’ elements use environmental features to an advantage; creating more exciting and interesting playspaces that fit in with the environment.
A common misconception when creating a new playspace is that the space must fit the equipment. Timber Creations make natural elements and equipment fit the space, while keeping the process simple for customers. Clients can choose to have a completely unique design done for their individual space, or they may choose from a collection of existing designs that the Timber Creations team will adapt to suit that space.

THE SCHOOL GROUNDS
Many schools, such as Toronto, Cawdor and Annangrove public schools, have chosen personalised designs to suit the shape of the uneven ground and incorporate beautiful existing trees into the space. Things like wrapping the playground pieces around or through trees to encourage interaction, building retaining walls that weave around natural features and work with slopes to retain mulch, and using interesting landscapes to create climbing and clambering features are just some of the ways that Timber Creations build engaging playspaces.
And keep in mind, everything is built to comply with Australian Standards and Playing Safe Guidelines for Schools.

Other schools, such as Elderslie and Wirreanda public schools, chose to use existing layouts or individual elements that the Timber Creations team created and adapted to the landscape.
With Elderslie for example, the process was to have the Timber Creations designers visit the school, provide a selection booklet of suitable play elements for the space, then have the students and staff vote on the elements to install. The Timber Creations team then took the selections and carefully arranged them to best suit the landscape and the shape of the space, creating a unified and functional play area.
