Newcastle has been the focus of a new ‘fitness trail’ development along the Stockton foreshore, with the installation of six stations that feature Forpark’s industry-leading ParkFit equipment. Want to know the benefits of this range?
Fitness enthusiasts who frequent Stockton’s foreshore for their outdoor exercise pursuits will now have another reason to step out and stay in shape with the new fitness trail.
After consultation with the local community on design elements and other considerations, the City of Newcastle installed a combination of ParkFit items from Forpark Australia at each of the six locations along three kilometres of pathway that suit a wide range of users.
The products used include:
- Bench Press
- Push-up Bar
- Chin-Up Bar
- Shoulder Press
- Stretch Station
- Sit-Up Board
- Aerobic Walker
- Cycle Seat
- Parallel Bars
- Leg Lift/ Dip Bar
- Sit-Up Board Inclined
- Pylo Box Jump
- Quad Extension
All six stations were built within walking distance of the recently completed $2 million South Stockton Active Hub.
Lord Mayor Nuatali Nelmes said the provision of new exercise parks such as this would help meet the city’s population growth targets and reduce obesity and health risks.
“By building these new parks we are also increasing our commitment to supporting the community to be physically active, contributing to improved health outcomes and lowering obesity levels,” the Lord Mayor explained. “We all know that getting active improves our sense of well-being, so we are very pleased to be delivering these new facilities for Novocastrians to stay fit and healthy.”
