SUN SHINES ON REDSTONE
25 May 2023
Sunbury, a country town in the metropolis of Melbourne, is unique for its significant heritage, amazing topography, wineries and good old-fashioned values. The region of Sunbury is experiencing a huge boom with new developments springing up and buyers flocking to build their dream home in this fast-changing suburb.
Fleming’s Landscapes are proud to be a part of this progression ensuring the transition to a higher density community is managed with landscape at the forefront of the developers’ mind.
Fleming’s have been engaged by Villawood Properties to ensure Redstone develops and grows into a community full of quality trees, beautiful tree-lines streets and well designed and planted outdoor environments where the community will grow, gather, play and live.
A key feature of this exciting new community is its large central park. Fleming’s Landscapes’ in-house design team, Flow Design Studio, envisaged a centre-piece of fun, activity and relaxation for this space which sits at the heart of the community.
The park has been designed to offer something for everyone from the very young, families, pre-teens and teenagers, singles, young couples, and those in active retirement. Beautifully curated zones within the park ensure activity areas do not impose on quiet contemplation areas while young children will be able to play safely away from the more active older children and teens – providing a great space for all people and interests.
The park, built by Fleming’s Landscapes, includes circular ‘contemplation’ nodes that provide the community with a peaceful space to relax, read a book, rest, gather as a group or enjoy a casual alfresco meal.
Other features of the park include a 0-10 playspace with an exciting slide tower and all the classic play equipment children have always loved and enjoyed as well as sensory equipment such as drums and xylophone for extra fun!
The older children will love the space as well with a dedicated ‘teen zone’ where kids can play basketball, and lounge in a dedicated ‘lounge area’ away from the younger children.
The huge kick-about area makes a great space for walking the family pet, playing a range of games and sports, jogging and more.
Fleming’s are dedicated to ensuring landscapes are filled with quality plants, as much green space as possible and beautiful parks for the whole community which is why this heritage business is now at the heart of creating community open spaces that people will enjoy for years to come.
