THE TREEHOUSE IS COMING!
11 Nov 2015
Inspired by a childhood spent in nature and a love of climbing trees, The Treehouse is Jungle Play’s newest addition to their nature play range of equipment.
As the newest addition to the nature play range by Jungle Play, The Treehouse boasts two separate cubby house spaces, a three metre curved slide and numerous natural discovery elements.
The ground level cubby is nestled in the hollow trunk of the tree and features fungi seating, a snoozing owl, hanging bats, frogs, geckos and snails to delight children of all ages.
A series of bright orange bracket fungi form a ladder at the side of the tree and invite children to climb to a second level open cubby space. Hidden in the foliage are comfy spots for children to sit and play quietly in the canopy. There are even patterns hidden in the tree rings on the cubby floor to discover before sliding back down to the ground via the curved slide running around the trunk under the branches of the tree.
The Treehouse measures 2.43m high, 2.2m wide and 2.8m long. The entire structure is safe to be climbed, with a maximum free height fall of 1.8m. It is made from heavy-duty fibreglass and finished in polyurethane paint and a resilient, graffiti-proof varnish.
The Treehouse is suitable for children of all ages and recommended for inclusion in parks, schools, hospitals, kindergartens, childcare centres and retail environments.
The photographs featured are of The Treehouse design maquette, sculpted by the Jungle Play Artistic Director Alan Groves. A life-size prototype is currently under construction.
Jungle Play would like to extend profound thanks and gratitude to the late Clive Dodd of Consulting Coordination for his invaluable advice and input into this project. Clive was integral in helping Alan to find the perfect balance between artistic integrity and legal functionality. His extensive knowledge and goodwill will benefit children the world over for many years to come.
Expressions of interest and pre-orders for The Treehouse will now be taken. Delivery is expected to start from May 2016.
