TIMBER ALTERNATIVE SAVES VIEW

Low maintenance composite decking proves once again a cost effective solution for replacing standard timber during a deck refurbishment at a popular holiday resort.
When a popular luxury resort in Busselton was looking for a replacement alternative for their aging timber deck, they approached Futurewood for a solution.
Busselton’s Aqua Resort is a self-contained luxury beachfront retreat situated on 8.5 acres of peppermint woodlands with gorgeous garden views. In order to be able to keep offering these views to patrons, Luke Waddington, Resort Manager, needed to replace the existing timber deck around the resort’s main pool and boardwalk area. His ultimate choice was Futurewood’s 138mm CleverDeck composite decking in Walnut.
The existing timber deck was quite extensive (320m2), but required the removal of the boards to check the sub-frame structure and ensure there was no rotting to undermine its integrity. A timber alternative was then required that could be successfully placed within the existing deck framework, which encompassed two staircases, two ramps, a tree and four limestone walls
During his search for the right product, Mr Waddington stated, “The product that we required needed to be non-slip, heat resistant and deal well with high traffic.”
Futurewood’s CleverDeck composite decking width and thickness, double-sided features, ease of installation and overall finish fulfilled all of the resort’s needs. And, its ability to be sanded down in the event of scratches and light scuff marks means maintaining a fresh look long-term wouldn’t be an issue.
Mr Waddington claims he would, “definitely recommend Futurewood’s products to everyone … they feel solid underfoot and are very versatile.”
Futurewood’s composite decking is a low maintenance alternative to your standard timber decking, and with little upkeep required is a cost-effective option for both domestic and commercial projects.
