COOCHIEMUDLO ISLAND

Coochiemudlo Island, located in the Moreton Bay region of South East Queensland, has recently gone Greenplate! The Redland City Council enlisted the help of Greenplate’s installation team to set up a number of Disability Approved BBQs on both sides of the island, catering to people of all abilities.

The installation process involved manufacturing two single Equal Access BBQs and a double Equal Access BBQ being installed on the southern side of the island, with an additional single Equal Access BBQ being installed on the northern side. All of these BBQs have been approved for use by individuals with disabilities and are equipped with features that ensure equal access for all.

Greenplate’s Capalaba Warehouse was responsible for manufacturing these BBQs, and it is exciting to see our products being used in the local area. The BBQs were strategically placed in locations that boast stunning views of the island, ensuring visitors can take in the beautiful scenery while enjoying a delicious BBQ.

The Disability Approved BBQs are fitted with advanced technology that allows them to operate in an energy-efficient manner, using up to 50 percent less energy than standard electric BBQs. This eco-friendly approach is in line with Greenplate’s core values, which are centred around creating sustainable solutions that benefit both people and the environment.

The success of this project has been attributed to the collaboration between Greenplate and the Redland City Council. The installation of these BBQs is part of the council’s ongoing efforts to provide more accessible facilities for individuals with disabilities, enabling them to enjoy the island’s natural beauty in a safe and inclusive manner.
