Developed by Greenplate, specialists in the design and manufacture of stainless-steel commercial electric and solar electric barbecues, the Solar Standalone Off-grid Electric Barbecue is the ideal solution for commercial applications where mains power is cost prohibitive or unachievable.

The recipient of a Good Design Award and a finalist in the Australia by Design Innovation television series, the Solar Standalone Off-grid system is a safe and energy efficient cooking option. The system can be installed anywhere, making it perfect for remote locations as well as a cost-effective solution for commercial projects.

The Solar Standalone Off-grid system is fully autonomous. Powered by renewable energy through a solar array that charges a pre-configured battery bank, the range eliminates any challenges posed by infrastructure limitations or geographic location.

The substructure and benchtop are crafted from stainless steel and feature an integrated in-bench DC barbecue hotplate of proprietary design. Available in either single or double configurations, the barbecue plate reaches cooking temperatures of up to 320°C and, due to its stainless-steel construction, has great heat transfer, which minimises warping.

Stainless steel is corrosion resistant and very durable, with a high tensile strength. It is easily fabricated and temperature resistant, as well as being low maintenance and recyclable, ensuring the Solar Standalone barbecue will provide longevity to any park, playground, school or residential development in which it resides.

SOLAR ARRAY
Thanks to the battery storage pack, the Solar Standalone system is always ready to go — regardless of the weather. Three days of carbon-neutral cooking power is available due to the two block gel batteries housed inside the cabinet.

Clients can choose from one of two energy systems. Both the high-efficiency Monocrystalline and vandal-resistant Thin Film Flexible Panel solar arrays can be fitted to existing or new roofing structures such as shade structures or nearby amenity blocks.

The preconfigured AGM gel battery storage bank includes a solar charge regulator. The large battery storage capacity also means that additional fixtures can be powered, including lighting, pumps, WIFI capability and wireless charging.

PROVEN IN THE FIELD
The Greenplate Solar Standalone Off-grid Electric Barbecue system has been implemented with great success on a number of projects across the nation.

Brindabella Christian College in Canberra installed a solar system, in conjunction with a solar tree, on its campus. The barbecue provides information on the solar energy battery storage and power consumption to an application. This information is displayed on monitors across the school, allowing students to learn about the practical uses of solar energy.

In Newcastle, due to the difficulty of procuring mains power for the site, Council chose to install a Greenplate solar electric barbecue at Warrabrook Reserve. Opting for integrated roof panels, the design seamlessly integrated the solar technology into the shelter, making the barbecue virtually indistinguishable as a solar powered unit.
