GLENN INNES SKYWALK

In a push to improve community infrastructure, Glen Innes Severn Council launched its “Centennial Parklands Master Concept Plan.” A standout feature of the massive venture is the stunning public skywalk overlooking the Glen Innes township and Northern Tablelands.

Designed and constructed by Fleetwood Urban and galvanised by Galserv, the skywalk stretches 80 meters, featuring a network of raised boardwalks and all-access viewing platforms. A marvel of design and engineering, the project was not without its various challenges, from inception and design to construction.

Due to the site’s topography and the expansive skywalk structure, it required significant pre-planning and custom detailing. Galserv provided the galvanising of the steel for this project. A NEPEAN™ Building & Infrastructure company with 60 years of experience, Galserv's precision galvanising ensured the structural elements were prepared to withstand harsh conditions of the Northern Tablelands.

Through meticulous design, attention to detail and close collaboration, Fleetwood Urban’s Pre-Construction team ensured execution was smooth. The hot-dip galvanising services from Galserv were crucial for the durability and longevity of the project. The result is a structure the Glen Innes community will cherish for decades.

The skywalk includes:

• An 80-meter elevated boardwalk with accessible ramps
• Three viewing platforms
• Timber-clad bench seating
