JABIRU PARK

Located on the northern side of the Gold Coast, Jabiru Park in Sanctuary Cove has been transformed into a dedicated outdoor fitness and exercise area. Originally an outdated playground, the park now features a customised Multi-Use Games Arena (MUGA) and multi-use outdoor fitness equipment.

Austek Play’s MUGAs are designed to provide an exciting and professional space where a number of different sports and activities can be played. The MUGA range is a modular system, which can be customised to suit a client’s vision, or to adapt to site or space requirements.

In order to suit the recreational space of Jabiru Park, Austek Play supplied a custom MUGA configuration, which included adding volleyball posts and a net, a large HAGS basketball backboard, and modified bolt-down footings to minimize trip hazards on the playing surface.

Austek Play’s Jabiru Park design also included an additional outdoor fitness area, giving residents the opportunity to do a full-body workout. The fitness area includes premium equipment, and was designed to complement the MUGA and round out the park as a complete sport and fitness zone.

The Denfit Multi-Max Fitness Station is the prominent piece of equipment in this area. It offers four individual exercise activities that utilise the user’s bodyweight as resistance, enabling a full-body workout, while also allowing and encouraging social interaction by enabling multiple people to work out at the one time.

With the addition of nearby seating for rest and supervision (as well as undercover seating close by), extensive levelling and retaining works, and with additional landscaping now completed, Jabiru Park has been transformed into a first-class exercise precinct for Sanctuary Cove’s residents and visitors.
