Children and adults alike are drawn to play spaces that connect with the surrounding landscape. The Play works is a pioneer in the nature play field, creating truly unique pieces that encourage children to engage in unstructured and imaginative play.

Crafted timber pieces are made to order using locally and sustainably sourced Ironbark timber. Each piece is unique, taking on the different characteristics of the log it is made from. As an Australian hardwood, Ironbark naturally withstands the extremes of the Australian climate. It tolerates temperature and humidity fluctuations, which tends to make short work of imported timbers.

The Play Works is fortunate enough to be able to collaborate with a local Brisbane artist, who creates masterful timber carvings. The Play Works stock a range of tactile touchwood totems, and large timber totems can be carved to order from either a choice of themes or a commissioned subject. Not your average chainsaw carver, the artist has an incredible talent with an eye for detail.
