DRAFFIN CREATES THE BENCHMARK
4 November 2015
Draffin Street Furniture has recently completed a renewal project for Monash University, creating a range of custom benches that really hit the mark.
Draffin Street Furniture has recently created a range of custom bench seating for an upgrade project at Monash University. Appointed by contractor 2 Construct, Draffin was asked to supply a mixture of custom and standard pieces for a renewal process being undertaken at the University.
Utilising designs from the project designers Dryden and Crute, and landscape architects TCL Landscapes, Draffin created a set of three 11m bench seats that are the centre piece of the project.
Each bench seat is comprised of 5 modules, weighing in at 400kg, and is created with a unique steel frame with angled ends finished in stainless steel mesh. The main body of the benches are created from shaped blackbutt timber.
Blackbutt is a dense timber that has become popular for street furniture, due to its sustainability and durability, making it a good choice for the Monash project.
Draffin also supplied a range of street furniture items from the Monash range, designed by Dryden and Crute, to complete the project.
Draffin has a product range of hundreds of fabricated designs, however they also enjoy working with custom designs, creating unique pieces that help to bring a project to life. Working with clients from design to completion, Draffin has the knowledge and experience to handle any project.
