The wheelchair friendly A-Series barbecue benchtop impressed the judges with its ability to create opportunities for greater social inclusion. The innovative design enables all park users to enjoy the Australian tradition of cooking outdoors in public and open spaces.

Meeting DDA guidelines, the barbecue is positioned so those confined to wheelchairs can reach the cooktop with ease, but is far enough away that hazards such as hot surfaces are out of reach of children. Having no sharp edges means there is nothing for people to hurt themselves on.

The strong double wall design is hard wearing, standing up to the challenges unique to public installations including vandalism and misuse.

The benchtop is available in single or double length and purchasers can choose to customise the space by fitting barbecue cooktops or sinks designed for easy tap reach.

While meeting all the functional requirements, the design of the A-Series barbecue will also blend seamlessly into any architecturally planned landscape or urban space. Its contemporary sculptural form is setting new standards in the design of outdoor barbecues in both private and public open spaces.
