HISTORIC MARKET GETS MAKEOVER

Draffin Street Furniture has installed unique bespoke seating elements as part of the Camberwell Market Upgrade.
Draffin Street Furniture has recently completed a project for the City of Boroondara to detail and construct 10 bespoke seating elements as part of the Camberwell Market Upgrade.
Each element features a stainless steel waterfall seat mounted to a precast concrete block. The back of each seat has been shaped into a letter which spells out “FOOD MARKET” altogether.
A variety of materials were used in this project, including stainless steel, timber, galvanised steel and concrete. Working to a very tight timeline, Draffin worked heavily with project managers from council to ensure a timely delivery of all items.
Draffin Street Furniture specialises in customised projects of this nature, working with clients to bring their concepts to life.
Managing Director Ian Draffin is the 3rd generation of the Draffin family business. “The challenge of a project of this nature is to meet the visual and functional design intent that the architect envisages, and at the same time apply our experience and expertise to ensure that the quality and durability of the product is maintained. The only way to achieve this is to work together in partnership with our customers to achieve the best result for them,” says Ian. “We get a real kick out of seeing how we can contribute to a project.”
Draffin Street Furniture is a family business that has been operating for 56 years. All products are designed and locally-made in Australia, which ensures that quality, service and flexibility are of the utmost importance.
