Since 1992, Root Barrier has created barriers that allow buildings and infrastructure to cohabit happily side-by-side with trees. Root Barrier’s product range provides proven flexible waterproof cut-off walls that separate building foundations from the effects of plants and seasonal variation in clay soils.

Additional products developed by Root Barrier include Under Path Growth Inhibitors (UPGI), for use under concrete paths and around service trenches. This material passes EPA requirements, is environmentally friendly, economical and, best of all, it works. 

Root Barrier offers technical support and material supply only, or a complete supply and install service as needed.

PRODUCTS

Root barriers from 600mm to 5.8m deep

Applications | Flexible waterproof cut-off walls; protect buildings and roads and stabilise moisture in reactive clay; protect infrastructure from root damage; provide a constant moisture zone under new home foundations; landscaping works, retaining walls, root-group separation; contaminated-site isolation and separation; back-of-kerb protection.

Sodium bentonite (25kg and 1 tonne bulk bags)

Applications | Sealing root barrier joins and trenches, leaking dams.

Under Path Growth Inhibitor (20kg and 1 tonne bulk bags)

Applications | Place under concrete to deter root growth and damage to paths and driveways; blend with sand to root-proof underground service trenches, power, sewer, water; blend with paver bedding sand to deter root growth.

This is an environmentally-friendly solution to root management and civil structures. It is 100 percent natural, creates a localised environment not conducive to root growth, and is also stabilised to prevent leaching from beneath driveways and footpaths.
