The coveted Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show presented by Scotts Osmocote is thrilled to announce the impressive and innovative concepts set to feature in its Landscape Design Show Garden Competition for 2023.
Prepare to be mesmerised by a breathtaking collection of landscape designs headlining the southern hemisphere’s largest horticultural event at Carlton Gardens and the world heritage listed Royal Exhibition Building from Wednesday 29th March until Sunday 2nd April. A crowd favourite for more than 25 years, the competition will bring together ten acclaimed landscape designers including Ireland’s Peter Donegan, who will make his show debut, and previous Gold winners, Christian Jenkins and Scott Wynd. The results of all major awards will be announced on opening day.
This year’s designs champion themes of sustainability, positivity, community and love, created by real-life people to enhance real time experiences outdoors. Visitors will be inspired by new technologies, unique compositions and eco-friendly materials and vote for their favourite to win the People’s Choice Award, announced post-event. Each designer has ben eagerly waiting to turn their imagination into reality and is now set to unveil their extraordinary, industry-leading ideas.
Alongside the Show Gardens, the festival’s outdoor program will showcase more than 30 other enchanting garden displays across an array of compeitions including the cosy 5m x 5m Boutique Gardens, student led Achievable Gardens, the second Ryman Healthcare Balcony Garden Competition and bespoke Border Garden Competition by the London College of Garden Design. For the first time, daily Tai Chi, meditation and mindfulness sessions will be hosted in Scotts Osmocote Welcome Garden, one of the 2023 Show Gardens, designed by Australian landscape designers, Jason Hodges.
Budding horticulturists inspired by their heroes and peers can discover green futures at HGIV Grow Your Future Hub and listen to daily talks from Show Garden designers with Brent Reid, Director of the London College of Garden Design, at the Border Garden display.
