Contaminated soils can present a costly issue on development sites. A much more cost-effective solution than deep excavation and soil removal, is the use of the Terram Hi-Vis separation fabric.
Terram Hi-Vis is an orange, non-woven geotextile used for the easily detectable separation of contaminated soils from uncontaminated soils. Contaminated soils are left in situ, and then covered with Terram Hi-Vis and new clean soil fill for planting.
The Hi-Vis geotextile has the dual functionality of preventing the upward movement of contaminated soil particles and its vivid colour warns of potential danger at the point of any future excavations. The warning function can be enhanced by a long life custom underground warning tape – with specific contamination details printed on it (also available through Tapex).
