Only five weeks to go until Centennial Park plays host to Sydney’s only large-scale outdoor garden show, the Australian Garden Show Sydney from 5-8 September. The inaugural event will combine interactivity with gardens, design, sustainable-living and culinary delights to celebrate Australia’s love with outdoor spaces.
This unique show will welcome spring by featuring spectacular displays from some of the biggest names in the horticultural and design business, including Chelsea Flower Show gold medalists, Tom Harfleet and Jim Fogarty, three-times UK Designer of the Year and event Ambassador, Andrew Fisher-Tomlin, French vertical garden expert Patrick Blanc and a host of local horticultural, landscaping and design personalities including event curator and Ambassador Myles Baldwin, Ambassador Indira Naidoo as well as Graham Ross, Jim Fogarty, Angus Stewart, Linda Ross and others. Next generation designers from various TAFE colleges will also be on show.
House Rules judge, Joe Snell, and Brendan Moar, from The Lifestyle Channel’s Dry Spell Gardening and the upcoming Coast Australia on The History Channel are the latest additions to what is shaping up to be 2013’s biggest Australian gardening event.
Spend a day with family and friends wandering through the site that offers something for everyone, including a potting tent for children, interactive garden displays, a grand floral pavilion and a plant crèche where purchases can be safely stored. Enjoy lunch or dinner at the Harvest Restaurant inside the grounds, where chefs will use produce from an on-site kitchen garden to create delicious meals. Attend thought provoking lectures and gardening and sustainability talks during the day and spend the evening relaxing with a drink at the lounge bar as light projections bring the surrounding gardens to life after dark.
