Saigon locals have been mesmerised by the interaction of the colour and light across this playground’s previously barren space.

Located in Saigon, Vietnam, this vibrant installation by local architects from HA Workshop revives and encloses a 200 square-meter empty playground that had previously been exposed to the elements.
The project was completed earlier in 2017 and is located within the Suoi Tien Amusement Park. The space now provides colourful shading and protection from the heat and wind.
HA Workshop selected the title Dragon Snake Game in reference to the installations fluttering flags and multi-color gradients. The overall floating effect is provided by six-meter-long columns that support the flags – as if soaring above the ground and people.
The effect creates mesmerizing plays of light and shadow reflected on the floor. In the words of the team, the experience is that of the ‘moving, hovering, floating frame architecture’.
